Salesxtrim Help.
1.0 What is Salesxtrim?
Salesxtrim is a free classified site where you can post Ads FREE of charge. It is an advertising site designed for all people living, working in Kampala and the suburbs allowing them to easily sell new and used items, advertise jobs, post events, look for pen pal, scholarships, sponsorships and many more.
1.1 How to post adverts to salesxtrim
Posting Ads to SalesXtrim is FREE of charge for both registered and non registered members. For registered members you are required to login before posting New Ads to your account, However non registered members Do Not have a chance of editing their Adverts after they have been posted. This facility is only available to our registered users, if you ever post an advert with out being register and at any point of time you feel like editing that advert simply register and then request for an Ad Transfer. You will be required to send us your username and the "Ad ID" associated with your Advert (the Ad ID is available on the top right corner below the search engine), then the transfer of the Ad to your account will be invoked in not more than 12 working hours, this is because SX has to verify the ownership of the Ad in question. Use our contacts form to request for Ad Transfer.
Currently their are four(4) groups of adverts that can be posted to salesxtrim. These include:
1.1.0 Products.
This is the major and biggest group of adverts that can be posted to SX. Products have different subgroups with various categories where they can be posted. The subgroups available in our products group are: items for sale, cars for sale, flats/house/real estates. To post a product advert follow the following steps below.
- From any page within the site click "Post Ad" tab which is on top of the page.
- A page with a list of groups and their categories is shown, select any category where you want to product to be added. i.e. items for sale -> computer/software.
- At this point you will redirected to a page with a form that will capture the details of your product depending on the category selected.
- You can change selected categories by clicking the label "change selected category" on the form page.
- On the form page all required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
- After filling in all the required fields click submit to add your product to our database.
1.1.1 Jobs
You can also post Job Ads to Salesxtrim by simply selecting the Job category from the Job's group on the Post Ad page. The rest of the steps are the same as those shown in posting product advert above.
1.1.2 Events
At Salesxtrim you can also advertise your upcoming events such as weddings, birthdays, concerts and many more. The steps for posting these types of Ads are the same as those shown in 1.1.0.
1.1.3 Friends
For people looking for or searching for pen pals, sponsorships, lost connections and more. You can find all these by simply browsing or posting what you seeking for.
1.2 How to search for Adverts from Salesxtrim.
Searching for adverts is very easy and straight forward. You can either browse through our product listing or use the the search engine for to find adverts posted on Salesxtrim
1.2.0 Browsing through category pages.
- From any page within our site click "categories" tab which is on top of the page.
- This will take you to a page with a list of categories and the number of items posted in these categories shown in green.
- Select one of the items to view products posted in this category.
- To view details of any product shown click either on its image thumbnail or name to open its details in product pages.
- On the product details page, you can do a number of operations i.e. printing Ads, Email Ads to friends, Emailing posters if you are interested in the item, reports adverts if it meets the stated conditions (in report this Ad Pane) on the right hand side of your screen.
- For adverts with multiple pictures you can scroll through the images by rolling the mouse over the thumbnail images to scroll and clicking a thumbnail to view the large image in the image preview pane.
1.2.1 Using the Search Engine
You can use the search engine to view items that meet your criteria. The search engine is located on the top right corner of the page. Choose the category you want to search and enter the search word. Leaving search word blank you return all items in the selected category.
Click on the image thumbnail or item name of the results found to skip to the detailed product page
1.3 How to register and why?
Registering to Salesxtrim is easy simply click "My Salesxtrim" tab which is on top of the page, this will take you page with showing a few reasons why you should have a salesxtrim account. Click Sign up Now button and fill the registration form that appears. After registering, an email welcoming you to salesxtrim will be sent to the email address provided, it is advisable to read the email before you proceed to login. After reading the email you can either use the link provided in the email or simply click login link on the confirmation page of salesxtrim to get the login window. Enter your registered username and password and you will be logged in. Within your SX account you can do a number of operations like posting New Ads to any category, Editing existing Ads, uploading more pictures to your posted Ads, Changing image descriptions and also deleting what you don't want, Please take caution while deleting certain items because SX till now does not offer any recovery services for deleted items. You will simply be required to post such items afresh, under some case we have provided a delete confirmation dialog box and in others the functionality is not yet available.
a) Editing your posted adverts
. Simply click edit on the right hand side of your item listing table, while in edit mode you can change the description of your item, image, upload images, and also manage uploaded images. In manage images you can edit the description of your pictures and also choose which image to use as thumbnail for your item, usually the first image uploaded is set as thumbnail by default but you can change this by clicking "edit" along side the picture and un checking set as Thumbnail, you can then set your preferred picture as thumbnail by following the same procedure and checking "set as Thumbnail".
Note: if you leave your item with out no image set as thumbnail the system will use our default "no image" picture while listing your item and yet they are images attached to the item so take caution while changing your item thumbnail.
b) Upload More Images
You can upload any number of images while logged in. When uploading you are tagging multiple images to your advert. This is only done while in edit mode click "upload images" and upload any number of images. Uploaded images will be shown instantly if they are successfully added.
c) Removing images from adverts.
You can delete images by clicking "Del image" label at the time of uploading or clicking "Del" label along side the image you want to delete under manage images. Under here are some of the scenarios where confirmation for delete is not yet added, the process is invoked straight away but at later the confirmation will be added so bare with us for the time being.
